The Message of Peace

*The Message of Peace*

Justice is one of the most important principles of Islam, which applies both to Muslim and others:

“and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety”

[Qur'an 5:8 – interpretation of the meaning]

“Avoid the oppressed’s supplication (against you), even if he was a kafir (a person who doesn't believe in Islam), because there is no barrier in its way (to Allah).”

[Narrated  by Ahmed, Abu Ya’la , and others. Verified to be hasan by al-Albani as sahih no 767 and sahih ul-jami no 119]

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“Show mercy, you will be shown mercy.” (Narrated by Imaam Ahmad, 2/165)

“Those who are merciful will be shown mercy by the Most Merciful. Have mercy on those who are on earth, and the One Who is above the heaven will show mercy to you.” (Narrated by Abu Dawood (13/285), al-Tirmidhi (6/43)).

“Whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari (5/75), Muslim (4/1809)).

“And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honour. And lower unto them the wing of submission and humility through mercy, and say: ‘My Lord! Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up when I was young’” [Qur'an 17:23]

“And among His Signs is this, that He created for you wives from among yourselves, that you may find repose in them, and He has put between you affection and mercy”

[Qur'an 30:21]

“The similitude of the believers in their mutual affection, compassion and empathy is like a single body. When any organ of the body hurts, all of its parts are involved and affected with sleeplessness and fever.”
(Narrated by Muslim 2586)

It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said:

It was said: O Messenger of Allah pray against the mushrikeen (non muslims)! He said: “I was not sent as an invoker of curses, rather I was sent as a mercy.”

Narrated by Muslim (2599)

Al-Bukhaari narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘Whilst a dog was walking around a well, almost dying of thirst, one of the prostitutes of Bani Israa’eel saw him, took off her shoe and gave him water. She was forgiven because of that.” (Ahaadeeth al-Anbiyaa’, 3208)

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said : “I and the one who sponsors an orphan will be in Paradise like these two” – and he gestured with his forefinger and middle finger, holding them apart.
Al-Bukhaari, 5304.

Al-Bukhaari narrated from Ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “A woman went to Hell because of a cat which she tied up, and did not feed it or let it eat of the vermin of the earth.”
(Bad’ al-Khalq, 3071)

Islam is a peaceful religion because it forbids mischief on earth.  Allah, may He be glorified, says (interpretation of the meaning):

“and do good as Allah has been good to you, and seek not mischief in the land. Verily, Allah likes not the Mufsidoon (those who commit great crimes and sins, oppressors, tyrants, mischief-makers, corrupt)”

[Qur'an 28:77]

Fadalah bin ‘Ubaid narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“The believer is the one from whom their (people’s) wealth and lives are safe, and the Muhajir is the one who forsakes mistakes and sins.”

Al-Bukhaari (2617) and Muslim (2190) narrated from Anas that a Jewish woman came to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) with some poisoned mutton. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) ate from it, then he asked her about that. She said, “I wanted to kill you.” He said, “Allaah would not let you do that.” They (his companions) said, “Shall we kill her?” He said, *“No.”* He (Anas) said, I can still see the effect of that on the palate of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

Allaah tells us that repelling evil with that which is better makes the evildoer become like a close friend. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“The good deed and the evil deed cannot be equal. Repel (the evil) with one which is better (i.e. Allaah orders the faithful believers to be patient at the time of anger, and to excuse those who treat them badly) then verily he, between whom and you there was enmity, (will become) as though he was a close friend”

[Qur'an 41:34]

The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "The strong man is not the one who can overpower others (in wrestling); rather, the strong man is the one who controls himself when he gets angry."
(Reported by Ahmad, 2/236; the hadeeth is agreed upon). #islam_peace

Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said "Whoever controls his anger at the time when he has the means to act upon it, Allaah will call him before all of mankind on the Day of Resurrection, and will let him choose of the Hur al-’Iyn whoever he wants."
(Reported by Abu Dawud, 4777, and others. It is classified as hasan (sound) in Saheeh al-Jaami, 6518).

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "The strongest man is the one who, when he gets angry and his face reddens and his hackles rise, is able to defeat his anger." (Reported by Imaam Ahmad, 5/367, and classified as hasan in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 3859)

'Abdullah bin Abu Aufa (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) at one time when he confronted the enemy, and was waiting for the sun to set, stood up and said, "O people! *Do not long for encountering the enemy* and supplicate to Allah to grant you security.
(Al Bukhari and Muslim)

Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Because of that We ordained for the Children of Israel that if anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or (and) to spread mischief in the land - it would be as if he killed all mankind, and *if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind”*

[Qur'an 5:32].

Ibn Mas'ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The first matter concerning which people will be judged on the Day of Resurrection will be the matter of blood."

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
